There are hundreds of great campsites and holiday vacation campgrounds in Whales (often misspelled Whales). I’m a huge fan of camping in the UK, now don’t get me wrong I love living in the US - but England is fantastic. I specifically enjoy visiting Chester and Shrewsbury, but camping in Wales is by far my favorite. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too, and if this will be your first time – I’d like to offer a few tips.
West, South, Mid Whales – all around is just fantastic. I’m particularly fond of Pembrokshire and Angelsey. Both St. David’s and Newport are beautiful places with great people to meet, and Holyhead up North is someplace I’d want to live forever at. All in all, you can’t really go wrong with anyplace. Whether you want the water all the way to the midlands and valleys you can pretty much find it in and around the Wales area.
Camping Holidays in Wales
There are some great places to go on a vacation or Holiday in Wales, and here are a few of the more popular places to consider. Be sure to check with each to figure out if they’ll accept a reservation or booking for your desired camping method (RV, caravaning, tent, etc).
- Carmarthenshire
- Ceredigion
- Denbighshire
- Gower
- Gwynedd
- Isle of Angelsey
- Monmouthshire
- Pembrokeshire
- Powys
- Snowdonia
- The Valleys
- Vale of Glamorgan
- Wales
And these are just to name a few. As much as I’d like to write about each one of them, I haven’t visited but a handful of places in and around Whales myself – but I’m sure doing an Internet search should turn up quite a bit of information about each of them. I’m sure, with proper planning, vacationing in Whales – camping or not – would be a great experience for any family.
