Camping With Dogs

Man’s best friend loves being outside, and accordingly would probably love nothing more than going camping with his master. Obviously camping with dogs isn’t for everyone, but it’s certainly something that would make your pet happy and help make this family vacation even more enjoyable.

How To Go Camping With Your Dog

DogGoing camping with your dog isn’t for everyone, there are a few important things to consider before packing Sparky’s stuff into the family SUV and heading out on the road. There are ta couple really important considerations, namely that you can control him/her if needed.

  1. Your do should be well behaved. There’s going to be lots of distractions out there on the camp-grounds, new sights and noises along with other dogs and pets. You don’t want your dog to be a nuisance to other campers or the wildlife there.
  2. You should be able to physically restrain your dog. If you can’t physically hold onto your canine friend(s) when they get excited or go trolling after another dog or their owners then you probably shouldn’t take Sparky with you.

This is important, if you can’t control your animals then don’t take them with you! Aside from that, make sure you pick up after your dog(s) and be sure not to leave a mess for anyone who might be out there after you leave. Don’t forget to bring food that won’t spoil, get soaking wet when it rains and won’t get attacked by ants or rodents. Bring plenty of water from home and make sure it’s wearing a collar with your name and phone number on it. With care and cautiousness, you’ll be able to have a great time out camping with a dog.
