There are a number of different types of tents that you will want to bring with you on your trip. The trick is to know which would be more practical to spend money on and what might be a waste of space. If you are traveling by yourself or with a small group of friends than it only makes sense to bring along a one person tent. However, if you are traveling with your family than why not save money and buy a cabin tent?
These are some of the largest portable camping tents available and are designed for long term trips. They are made to be durable, reliable, and yes waterproof! They come in sizes between sixty to two hundred and four square feet. This makes them able to hold between four to six people comfortably.
Most of these are made with cotton fabric – which is what helps to make it waterproof. For around $100 you can buy the most basic of tents. For a bit more (up to $500) you can purchase one that is built with double doors, awnings, and screens that will help to keep the bugs out while you are trying to sleep.
The floor of the tent is made with a polyethylene or nylon material. Both are waterproof – but each have their own disadvantages. The problem with polyethylene is that it is hard to refold when you are putting it away. Nylon is durable – but it does tend to be bulky and quite heavy.
The biggest problem that families have when trying to share a tent is that there is no privacy. That might have been true in the past – but now you can choose between a number of different types of cabin tents that are built with partitions. These will help to designate each area. Some might have two partitions (one for parents and one for kids) and others might have three or four.
